Thank you for checking out the missions gallery page. These pictures show just a very small part of our trip this year and pics from last year. I also have videos on the Youtube page (1) Green Waters Ministries - YouTube and the Instagram page.
I always got to share the Gospel, especially on this day at a Sunday church service in Guangras.
This is one of their homes. I'm not sure how people at this age could travel those mountains so easily, it hurt me!
This is part of our team and our view for a few days. the makeshift church is directly below us.
One of the days, we took a break from the villages and visited a Catholic orphanage where Pedro knows one of the Sisters. It was an absolute joy to play for these kids. This little girl is 11 years old and was given alcohol in her baby bottle. The doctors said she would not make it but that was 8 years ago!
I met a new friend named Jose. He could not speak verbally but spoke volumes in other ways. He gave me a bracelet that he made and I love it and wear it often.
This community was meeting in the small building on the left. They are growing and have begun construction on a larger building on the right.
Pedro is checking out the books we gave them last year. It is time for new Sunday School curriculum. There are so many children scattered in these areas that it is difficult to keep up, but absolutely crucial that we do our best to.
Sunday School every Thursday evening. The children walk for great distances to attend this meeting every week. Thank God for the teachers who sacrifice so greatly to impact these lives.
This is how they prepared our meal for the day. All home grown and fresh chicken and vegetables and cheese. It is a big sacrifice for them and a great honor for us.
This family is actually from a village called San Jose de Llilla. She is a widow and has several children living with her. Highlands Ministry regularly brings her food and supplies. The girl was excited about my fiddle and hopes to play someday.
Guamote is a bigger village. Every Friday, these teachers conduct 2 Sunday School classes for these kids who would otherwise not receive any biblical teaching.
The teacher told me afterward that this little girl was crying when I played the fiddle. She said she wanted to play like that some day.
Highlands Ministry has also rents a small room in Guamote where teachers from villages all over travel sometimes hours to come here to be trained on how to teach Sunday School - every week!
